Parmarbrook were commissioned by Criterion Capital to provide Civil & Structural engineering services for the redevelopment of the island site located at 125 High Street, Colliers Wood.

The site  comprises a 19 storey tower and 6 storey extension adjacent to the Northern Line LUL to provide 218 residential units, cafe/bar and amenities.

In view of the fact that both the southern and northern tunnels of the Northern Line traversed the site it was essential to ensure the development had no effect on the tunnels during or after construction. Care had to be taken to ensure no transfer of load onto the tunnels either by keeping piles outside the exclusion zones or by ‘sleeving’. Prior to piling, Ground Movement Analysis and Load Change Analysis were carried out to satisfy LUL.

Infrastructure surveys and tunnel condition surveys were undertaken before and after the construction works to accurately locate the tunnels and check that no movement of the rails had occurred, as a result of the construction work.

The project was completed in 2017.
